Model Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) with Security Clearance
Kitty Hawk Technologies, a growing service and technology innovator, is seeking a talented and motivated professional to develop innovative technology that supports some of our nation’s most important defense initiatives. The Model Based Systems Engineer will join a motivated, talented, and technically accomplished team and provide program support to the Department of Defense (DoD). Candidates must be results‑oriented, organized, logical, and possess deep insight into customer requirements and the ability to influence those requirements ethically. Responsibilities
Support RDTE projects and develop system architectures using SysML and Cameo Systems Modeler. Perform MBSE efforts: requirements development, documentation, architecture documentation, traceability, SysML and parametric representations for anti‑ship cruise missile test targets and associated modeling and simulation. Document system architecture and requirements using Cameo System Modeler. Collaborate with Program Manager and missile engineers to develop, derive, and track requirements. Develop appropriate verification and validation of requirements with missile engineers. Track requirements, change requests, configuration control changes, risks, and mitigation plans with program manager and technical leads. Adhere to existing project SysML style guidance. Participate in recurring Technical Exchange Meetings to align model development with project milestones and requirements. Prepare technical presentations, briefings, and papers to communicate model development status. Work independently with minimal supervision in a team environment. Commit to on‑site work at the KHT office or a government customer facility; flexible arrangements may be available as required by customer support needs. Qualifications and Experience
Five (5) years in model‑based systems engineering (MBSE), specifically with Cameo System Modeler. Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or related technical discipline. Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET DoD clearance – U.S. citizenship required. Experience with industry‑standard architecture and modeling languages (UML, SysML) and frameworks (DoDAF, UAF). Proficiency with industry‑standard architecture tools such as Cameo Systems Modeler or Enterprise Architect. Effective oral and written communication skills; proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Quick learner, adaptable to frequently changing requirements, and thrives in an exciting environment. Desired Skills
Experience with SysML. Experience using Teamwork Cloud. Experience integrating technologies into operational‑level architectures. Experience working alongside operational forces. Independent judgment and autonomous work with minimal supervision. Strong written and oral communication, multitasking ability, and professional client interaction. Experience leading a team of junior/mid‑level engineers. Benefits
