Instrument Tech
to support the mission of St. Bernardine Medical Center by maintaining surgical instruments and sterilization processes.
Responsibilities
Initial decontamination of instruments post-surgical procedure.
Inspect and maintain instrument packaging for proper sterilization.
Supervise or complete sterile or cold disinfecting processes.
Assist with instrument purchases under the direction of specialty coordinators.
Rotate and store sterile instruments to ensure presentation and utilization within shelf life and sterilization dates.
Communicate needs for upgrading or replacing instrumentation.
Transport patients and deliver surgical specimens with necessary documentation.
Document cleaning and participate in maintenance and spore testing of unit and washer sterilizers.
Requirements
Minimum one year experience as an Instrument Technician, Central Service Technician, or relevant instrument processing experience.
Basic knowledge of medical terminology and nomenclature of equipment used in the department.
Certification in Sterile Processing preferred.

Pay Range $24.00 – $29.58 per hour.
