We have an exciting opportunity available for a Financial Reporting Accountant to join our team. This role will oversee the external audits of our JV partners and assist with the preparation of financial reporting.
In this role, you will: Audit:
Manage the external audits of our joint venture partners and assist with implementing internal controls.
Prepare annual financial statements and related disclosures for external audits of our joint venture partners.
Work with other departments to gather support for external audits and prepare audit workpapers as needed.
Financial Reporting:
Assist with the preparation of the quarterly valuation template for our joint venture partner.
Prepare the fair value calculations of homes for inclusion in the valuation template for our joint venture partner.
Review third‑party fair value calculations and related journal entries for accuracy.
Assist with quarterly reporting, including an analytical review of the financial statement balances for reasonableness and coordinating with other departments to investigate findings.
Prepare financial presentation slides for monthly/quarterly joint venture reporting, including budget‑to‑actual variance commentary.
Other:
Assist Senior Accounting Analyst to move funding for home purchases, site prep, and set‑up costs on an as‑needed basis.
Support the accounting team with the month‑end close process and special tasks as needed.
Work directly with the Chief Accounting Officer, Director of Accounting, and Senior Financial Reporting Accountant on special projects as needed.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance or related area required.
2+ years prior audit experience required.
Strong communication and problem‑solving skills are required in order to address, analyze and solve problems of moderate difficulty due to the large volume of properties and interpersonal skills necessary to coordinate and implement appropriate solutions.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications required; specifically, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Proficient in using VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables in Excel. Knowledge in Power BI preferred.
Must be detail‑oriented and have strong organizational skills, with the ability to work independently.
