Technical Specialist
Spectrum Software Technology (SST) is hiring Technical Specialists to support mission‑critical civil aviation systems as part of a long‑term technology modernization initiative. This position focuses on hands‑on hardware, networking, and system support for FAA facilities across the country.
Work Location & Travel
Primary onsite work at the FAA William J. Hughes Technical Center (Egg Harbor Township, NJ – near Atlantic City International Airport)
Up to 50% travel to FAA sites nationwide
What You’ll Be Doing
Deploy, install, and maintain hardware at FAA Centers, TRACONs, and Towers
Build and configure servers to meet site‑specific technical requirements
Install and support networking equipment including routers, switches, and printers
Perform lab network updates supporting FAA technology refresh initiatives
Diagnose and resolve issues related to hardware, operating systems, and network components
Provide system administration support and technical assistance to end users
Monitor system performance and participate in testing and validation activities
What We’re Looking For
Associate’s Degree in a technical discipline with 8 years of relevant experience, or 10+ years of hands‑on IT/hardware engineering experience
Strong background in computer hardware, peripherals, and networking
Experience working with routers and switches
Working knowledge of Linux environmentsBroad IT support and troubleshooting experience
Willingness and ability to travel approximately 50%
Ability to work onsite in Egg Harbor Township, NJ
U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency required
