About Regional Supervised Housing The mission of the MH Regional Supervised Housing Program is to reduce the length of stay in local and state psychiatric facilities by providing a living environment that will maximize the individual's opportunities and independence by providing quality supports, training and individualized services to individuals living with severe mental illness and possible co-occurring substance use disorder. The MH Regional Supervised Housing Program supports individuals in their personal choices and works closely with them to engage them in services to maximize their independence and reduce hospital admissions.
About this role As a Residential Manager at the Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board, you will play a pivotal role in managing agency residential settings and supported living services tailored for individuals living with serious mental illness, potential co-occurring substance use disorders, and/or intellectual developmental disabilities. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Supervise, evaluate, and support residential and supported living supervisors and staff, including recruitment and hiring recommendations
Screen client referrals; lead admissions; conduct ongoing assessments; and oversee individualized treatment planning and documentation
Monitor client progress, ensure quality charting, protect client rights, and maintain records in accordance with agency standards
Provide and oversee crisis intervention services and medication support
Develop and coordinate client skill-building, social, recreational, discharge, and aftercare services
Manage program budgets, prepare reports, and support overall program operations
Provide crisis intervention and referrals, and serve as an advocate for clients through participation in state, regional, and community interagency forums and outreach events
What you need to be successful The ideal candidate brings empathetic leadership, exceptional organizational skills, and a dedication to fostering a supportive, high-quality environment for clients and staff.
To qualify for this position, candidates must meet the following requirements:
Bachelors degree in Human Services
Three (3) years or more of experience in providing psychosocial development and training, crisis intervention and counseling services to the seriously mentally ill and possible co-occurring substance use disorder and/or intellectual developmental disability
Supervisory and program management experience
Must be registered with the Virginia Board of Counseling to practice as a QMHP-A
