Payment Specialist
We are currently seeking a
Payment Specialist
to join our team in Irvine, CA. This onsite role offers an immediate start at $25/hour. If you are passionate about helping students and have strong collections experience, we would love to hear from you. Base Pay Range
$22.00/hr - $22.00/hr Key Responsibilities
Perform cash collections for institutional loans, private loans, cash payment plans, and past-due inactive student accounts. Coordinate collection efforts with loan servicers and third-party agencies. Ensure compliance with HEOA Disclosure, Regulation Z, Truth in Lending, and CFPB requirements. Make 80-100 outbound calls daily to collect payments from inactive students. Conduct skip tracing to locate borrowers. Meet and exceed monthly collection goals and daily activity targets. Assist with data collection and reporting for the Collections Supervisor. Support training of Collection Associates. Qualifications
Associate's degree or equivalent education/experience (6 months to 1 year in collections preferred). Strong interpersonal skills and sensitivity to diverse socio-economic backgrounds. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of collection regulations including HEOA, Regulation Z, and Truth in Lending. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word. Strong analytical and skip tracing skills. Familiarity with system databases. Seniority Level
