JOB SUMMARY Responsible for managing financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. This role requires strong analytical skills and a commitment to accuracy.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare and post journal entries.
Performs balancing and reconciliation of general ledger accounts, documenting results.
Identifies, investigates and corrects errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports.
Compiles financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and capital, and prepares balance sheet and other reports to summarize and interpret current and projected company financial position.
Responsible for accurate and timely preparation of financial reports.
Participates in regular meetings with appropriate course managers to review year-to-date financial information.
Analyzes financial information detailing assets, liabilities and capital accounts to prepare balance sheets and other reports utilized in interpreting current/projected financial positions.
Performs statistical analyses to determine trends, estimates, and significant changes, formally documenting results.
Monitors compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, Company policies, and client policies.
Prepares and file sales tax, use tax, and personal property tax returns in various states. May prepare or assist with preparation of other federal, state and local tax returns.
Assists General Managers and course personnel in understanding the recognition requirements involved in accrual-based accounting.
Reviews new agreements to ensure proper accounting.
Assists with the preparation of the annual audit and audit report.
Assists with the preparation of annual budgets.
Demonstrates a commitment to the work and success of the Company and clients by being service and solution oriented, having positive interactions with clients/managers/co-workers, and meeting established expectations for accuracy, service and timeliness.
Regular and punctual attendance at designated work location is required.
Completes other assignments and duties as requested or directed by managers or officers of the Company.
REQUIREMENTS KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Thorough understanding and proven ability to apply generally accepted accounting principles to work functions.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages or other figures accurately and quickly.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and set priorities to meet Company and client expectations and deadlines.
Self starter with high levels of organization and initiative to follow through on work projects.
Demonstrated business judgment; ability to identify and solve problems, understanding the business implications of a decision.
Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness. Applies feedback to improve performance. Monitors own work to ensure quality.
Must be able to communicate effectively and professionally in written, verbal, and oral forums.
High degree of professionalism and integrity is required to inspire trust of others.
Demonstrates a sense of ownership in the work and a commitment to the success of the Company and its clients.
Proficient in accounting software and Excel.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field of study
2 – 4 Years of relevant accounting experience
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT Seeing and hearing: read documents, computer screen, answer phones, communicate in person 75-100%
Standing and walking 0-24%
Climbing, stooping, squatting and kneeling 0-24%
Dexterity: utilizing phone, typing, and writing 75-100%
Lift in excess of 10 pounds 0-24%
