National Accounts Strategic Underwriter – Elevance Health
Apply for this role: The National Accounts Strategic Underwriter will provide strategic and analytical underwriting support for national account clients. Responsibilities include financial modeling, risk assessments, developing multi‑year pricing strategies, and collaborating cross‑functionally to deliver customized solutions aligned with business priorities.
Base Pay Range $105,504.00/yr – $180,864.00/yr
Location & Hybrid Work This role requires associates to be in‑office 1–2 days per week. Candidates must be within a reasonable commuting distance from the office; otherwise the position will not be considered unless an accommodation is granted. Hybrid/virtual work may be considered if the candidate meets the distance requirement.
Primary Duties
Create competitive, financially sound proposals for business growth and renewals.
Collaborate on RFPs and lead contract customization and negotiations.
Ensure accurate financial outcomes and risk mitigation during negotiations.
Assist in the technical development of underwriting associates, monitoring reports, and workflow to provide recommendations on productivity and efficiency improvements.
Minimum Requirements • BA/BS in Finance, Actuarial Science, Business, or related field. • Minimum of 7 years in large group insurance underwriting, actuarial analysis, or strategic finance.
Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and Experiences
ASA/FSA, CFA, or CEBS credentials preferred.
Locations California, Colorado, District of Columbia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Nevada, New York, Washington State.
