BIG PICTURE We're seeking a proactive and detail‑obsessed Production Finance Accountant to take ownership of core accounting functions and ensure smooth, efficient day‑to‑day financial operations. This role will work closely with our Financial Controller and key department leads to support our rapid growth, all while maintaining a strong foundation of financial accuracy and accountability.
HOW YOULL SPEND YOUR TIME
Manage general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and core accounting operations.
Manage month‑end close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting packages.
Manage the preparation of weekly / monthly financial statements, budget variance analysis, and reporting for leadership.
Collaborate with colleagues (Senior Management, Production, HR, Operations, etc.) to support budgeting, spending compliance, and forecasting.
Maintain accurate vendor records, invoice approvals, and expense reports for policy adherence.
Manage payroll reconciliations and coordinate with HR on resolving discrepancies.
Contribute to the design and improvement of financial processes, internal controls, and systems to scale with the studios growth.
WHAT YOU HAVE
7+ years of accounting experience, ideally within media, production, or fast‑paced startup environments
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or MBA strongly preferred
Strong understanding of the U.S. GAAP and its practical application in day‑to‑day accounting and financial reporting
Proficiency with accounting systems such as QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Payroll, Greenslate, NetSuite, or similar platforms
Strong Excel and Google Workspace skills, with a solid understanding of production finance
Proven ability to perform hands‑on accounting work while managing small teams or outsourced partners
Successfully led end‑to‑end internal and external audits, including planning, auditor coordination, data preparation, issue resolution, and timely closure
A natural collaborator whos equally confident working with numbers and creative professionals
Exceptional attention to detail, time management, and a solutions‑first mindset
WHO OVERSEES YOU This role will report directly to the Financial Controller.
