Accreditation Manager (University Program Specialist)
Location:
VC for Business & Finance, North Carolina A&T State University.
Working Hours:
8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday – Friday.
Work Type:
On-site.
Position Overview This position plays a key role in ensuring the University Police Department meets and exceeds accreditation standards. The role involves a variety of complex administrative and professional responsibilities, with a strong emphasis on planning, coordinating, and managing accreditation compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Provide technical support across the department to maintain compliance and preparedness for accreditation.
Develop systems and procedures that align with or surpass national and state accreditation standards.
Review, initiate, and coordinate agency policies and procedures to ensure compliance with accreditation requirements.
Update the accreditation plan as needed and assist in drafting directives to meet evolving standards.
Monitor trends in accreditation requirements and advise leadership on anticipated changes.
Work directly with police administration on accreditation and policy‑related matters.
Develop, update, and maintain department manuals and supplemental orders.
Collect and organize reports, documentation, and proofs of compliance to meet accreditation requirements.
Plan and support preliminary and on‑site assessments, including tours for assessors.
Maintain comprehensive files documenting compliance with state and national standards.
Handle all sensitive matters with diplomacy and confidentiality.
Collaboration and Compliance
Partner with the Clery Act Compliance Coordinator to support institutional compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act.
Work collaboratively with various university offices to ensure thorough compliance and consistent practices.

Broad knowledge of University Police Department policies, operational procedures, and administrative practices.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize assignments.
The capacity to work independently with minimal supervision while handling sensitive matters confidentially.
Requirements
Minimum: Bachelor’s degree and one year of experience related to the area of assignment, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Preferred: Thorough understanding of law enforcement principles, practices, procedures, and management.
Familiarity with professional law enforcement standards and the Accreditation Process.
In‑depth knowledge of federal, state, and local laws, as well as the Clery Act.
Ability to evaluate operations and recommend improvements.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficiency with personal computers and related software.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to develop clear and concise policies and procedures.
Experience in one or more of the following areas: Working in a law enforcement agency
Policy and procedure development
Grant writing and administration
Crime trend analysis
Program evaluation
Education and experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Public Administration, or a related field.
Compensation & Benefits Recruitment Range: $66,804 – $74,000.
