Senior Network Administrator Task Order
HBITS Agency: State of New York Department of Financial Services Location: New York NY - Hybrid Duration: 30 Months Rate: Depends on experience Position Overview
This HBITS role supports the Department’s hybrid security infrastructure. The Senior Network Administrator will manage and secure enterprise firewalls, Azure-based networking, high‑availability environments, VPN systems, and documentation while maintaining network integrity, resilience, and compliance. Responsibilities
Install, configure, and manage firewall security appliances in a high‑availability architecture. Patch and maintain security appliances with required updates and upgrades. Implement configuration changes to support new initiatives and applications. Monitor and support the VPN environment to ensure secure high‑availability operations. Configure and manage Azure networking and security components including firewall rules, VNets, and ExpressRoute. Monitor Azure Security Center for compliance with security benchmarks and standards. Assist in creating ARM templates as needed. Produce network diagrams and documentation that meet standards, policies, and procedures. Mentor staff on network and security best practices. Qualifications
7 years of administration and engineering experience with enterprise firewalls. 7 years of experience implementing security solutions such as threat prevention, URL filtering, and SSL decryption. 7 years of experience with firewall management systems. 7 years of experience with intrusion protection and prevention systems. 7 years of experience configuring routes and encrypted tunnels between remote locations. 7 years of experience developing and deploying BGP routing solutions. 7 years of experience with high‑availability network technologies and configurations. 7 years of experience producing written documentation, network diagrams, and operational procedures. 7 years of experience implementing and integrating Cisco LAN/WAN solutions. 7 years of experience configuring and installing routers, switches, firewalls, and VPN solutions. 7 years of experience with LAN/WAN TCP/IP switching and routing protocols. 7 years of experience mentoring staff. Fortinet NSE certification required. Required Documents
