The Forest City Site Manager/Plant Manager oversees the entire plant operations, including safety, quality control, production, packaging, CapEx and maintenance. The role is facilitating a positive culture and developing the manufacturing leadership and operations team to drive throughout, efficient volume growth, and profit optimization while exceeding safety and quality standards. This is a senior leadership role in the organization with opportunity for continued career growth. This is a salaried position with starting pay $95,000.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain a safe work environment and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Direct and coordinate plant operations to ensure food safety and quality standards are met.
Develop and execute comprehensive strategies to achieve production targets, cost control, and quality standards.
Develop and manage budgets, identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement strategies to reduce expenses.
Collaborate with each plant’s Leadership Team and cross functional staff to develop and implement effective solutions to business challenges.
Develop and maintain relationships with peers, department managers, suppliers, vendors, customers, community leaders and other stakeholders to enhance plant performance, business growth and customer satisfaction.
Lead and develop a team of supervisors, Team and line leaders, and other staff members to ensure a high level of employee engagement, motivation, and performance.
Display leadership skills that provide a vision and direction that Associates will follow.
Stay up to date with industry trends and innovations to identify opportunities for process improvements, cost reductions, and growth.
Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
Promote and develop a culture of excellence and accountability.
Manufacturing Leadership Duties
Ensure that operations systems, procedures, and policies are deployed effectively and are consistently applied at all operating locations.
Ensure that the appropriate equipment, associates, and efficiency measurement systems are in place to ensure alignment between customer needs and our internal operational capabilities.
Manage inventory and production schedules to meet customer demands and ensure timely delivery of products.
Identify operational failures and work to implement corrective actions.
Set clear operational equipment performance standards and operating cost objectives.
Ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards, including HACCP, GMP, and other regulatory requirements.
Education & Experience Required
Associate’s degree in Food Science, Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Operations, or related field.
5 - 7 years of experience in food manufacturing with at least 3 - 5 years in a plant leadership capacity.
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team.
Strong belief in the value of a diverse and inclusive workforce.
Excellent working knowledge of business strategy, HR, and employee relations issues.
Preferred
Bachelor’s or Graduate degree in Food Science, Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Operations, or related field.
7+ years of experience in food manufacturing with at least 5 years in a plant leadership role.
Strong knowledge of food safety and quality standards, including HACCP, GMP, and other regulatory requirements.
