We are looking for a top-notch candidate with interest and ability in real estate law and estate planning. Candidates who are not interested in real estate law should not apply. Our attorneys have predictable and scheduled marketing quarterly activities, and nearly all clients will be provided by the law firm. Responsibilities
Conduct legal research, prepare for and attend hearings and/or other legal proceedings, and provide legal counsel with the help of senior associate attorneys
Create legal documents, including correspondence, briefs, motions, pleadings, contracts, affidavits, and settlement agreements for contract negotiations and proceedings
Resolve cases efficiently by using communicating effectively with and working alongside senior attorneys and paralegals
Maintain client files in an organized fashion to ensure up-to-date information is handy for other attorneys, paralegals and support staff
Analyze conflicts in legal matters, advise clients on solutions, and negotiate on behalf of clients
Handle real estate closings, supervise support staff on real estate files
Draft purchase agreements and examine the title
Develop long-lasting relationships with clients
Supervise administrative staff, paralegals, and law clerks
Counsel clients by assessing options and determining the best course of action for a successful outcome
Take responsibility for administrative staff relating to client invoicing/billing records, setting up meetings with clients, and completing tasks
Previous experience in at least 1 of our practice areas
Organize and maintain client files to ensure they are kept current
Draft and file wills, trusts, and powers of attorney
Communicate with clients about plans for dispersing their assets
Advise clients regarding retirement plans, charitable giving, and insurance options
Ensure clients are effectively represented at court hearings as needed
Qualifications
Active member of the American Bar Association (ABA)
Has a Juris Doctor (J.D. degree) from an accredited law school
Candidates must have passed the bar exam
Willingness to learn from senior attorneys to meet our client needs and grow our client base
Exceptional communication skills and problem-solving skills needed in order to work with all levels of staff and our clients
Must be licensed or become licensed in the State of Minnesota.
Bust be a Minnesota resident or become a Minnesota resident prior to beginning employment.
Compensation $80,000 - $90,000 per year
