Project Estimator – Commercial Interiors

Morris Plains, NJ
We are seeking an experienced
Project Estimator
to support commercial interior fit-out projects from preconstruction through bid submission. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented estimator who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys collaborating with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare budgets and detailed cost proposals for commercial interior fit-out projects
Analyze architectural drawings and specifications to define project scope and pricing strategy
Perform quantity take-offs and develop accurate pricing using internal cost data and subcontractor quotes
Solicit, review, and evaluate subcontractor bids to ensure alignment with project scope and requirements
Write clear, comprehensive subcontractor scope-of-work descriptions
Conduct job site visits and coordinate with subcontractors and clients during the preconstruction phase
Provide value engineering options and cost-saving recommendations to clients
Collaborate with the Bid Coordinator and Chief Estimator on bid tracking, documentation, and administrative support
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field or 3+ years of relevant estimating experience
Proven experience estimating commercial and/or industrial interior fit-out projects
Strong ability to read and interpret architectural, MEP, civil, and structural drawings
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook); estimating software experience is a plus
Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail

Determining compensation for this role depends upon a wide array of factors including skill level, experience, location, and business needs. The salary range for the role is disclosed in this posting.
