Overview The Outside Service Manager supervises the activities of the outside service staff working in the staging area, golf car facilities, practice facilities, as well as course marshals and starters. This individual is responsible for assisting in training, scheduling, and evaluating the performance of the team as a part of the facility goal to provide the highest level of service for NCGA Members and Guests.

Experience Required One to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. PGA membership or associate a plus. This position has the potential to be a starting point for such a career.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Supervise staff ensuring that members and guests are greeted and assisted upon arrival and departure.

Train staff to positively promote and provide the service to the standards of Poppy Hills.

Facilitate a culture of customer first service through leading by example.

In conjunction with the Director of Golf, hire, train, and schedule the outside service team.

Ensure that all golf carts are properly cleaned, stocked and that the cars are maintained as scheduled and are mechanically sound.

Conduct minor preventative maintenance on golf cars and maintain the appropriate records for their maintenance.

Ensure that the practice tee is set up according to the weekly schedule, and that is maintained in a clean, orderly manner throughout the day.

Ensure adequate supply and cleanliness of range practice balls.

Ensure that players are made aware of the rules and any special or daily play conditions/restrictions on the course.

Supervise and assist in training marshals and starters in best practices for facilitating positive guest experiences.

Monitor inventory levels for towels, pencils, tees, scorecards, and cleaning supplies.

Verify accuracy of sales tickets as it relates to services.

Be knowledgeable of pricing for greens and car fees, practice fees and other miscellaneous charges and keep staff aware of pricing structures.

Communicate emergency and safety information to Members and Guests in a calm and professional manner when alarms sound.

Promote an operation that is run in a safe and secure manner.

Work closely with the Golf Shop staff on all golf related activities.

Complete special projects or other duties assigned by the Director of Golf.

Knowledge, Skills and Traits

Fundamental knowledge of the game of golf, rules of golf, golf facility operations and tournament operations

Fundamental supervisory practices and principles

Act as a role model for all employees by demonstrating the behavior and work ethic expected of all employees

Strong organizational, planning and prioritization skills

Service and customer focused attitude

Experienced in written and oral business communications

Physical Requirements

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions

Ability to communicate with vendors, public, and employees

Ability to perform mathematical calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages

Ability to apply common sense understanding to complete instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form

Continuously required to talk and hear, including the ability to communicate in both written and verbal form

Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, push, lift, bend, stoop, and grasp. Occasionally required to lift fifty (50) pounds
