Position Summary Provides quality patient care while performing diagnostic imaging and related procedures to demonstrate anatomy for interpretation and/or intervention, adhering to radiation safety principles.
Essential Functions
Perform diagnostic imaging procedures to demonstrate anatomy/physiology for interpretation or intervention.
Exercise professional judgment and maintain a demeanor complimentary to quality care.
Deliver appropriate care while recognizing patient conditions and ensuring successful completion of procedures.
Comply with all state and federal regulations applicable to each modality.
Assess patient’s physical condition and age-specific needs.
Provide instructions to achieve patient cooperation and desired results.
Ensure accurate patient identification and documentation.
Position patient and equipment for high-quality imaging results.
Apply radiation safety principles to minimize exposure.
Administer contrast medication and respond to adverse reactions or emergencies.
Maintain compliance with Orlando Health policies and education requirements.
Assist in training new technologists and supervising students.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area and equipment.
Provide patient transport as needed.
Education & Training
Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
Licensure / Certification
Valid Florida Certified Radiologic Technologist license.
Valid ARRT certification.
Current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
Experience
None required (entry-level friendly).
