Location Hershey, PA - On site
Employment Type Contract
Contract Details 7‑month W2 contract (potential to extend or transition to permanent). Pay rate: $20–23 per hour – depending on education and experience.
Primary Responsibility Media Preparation
Responsibilities
Prepare microbiological media for in‑house food testing purposes.
Maintain an inventory of prepared and commercially available microbiological media to support testing.
Coordinate the destruction of samples after results entry.
Maintain autoclave records related to preparation and destruction of routine analysis.
Support food product sample receiving and analyses.
Conduct microbiological analyses of food ingredients, finished products, and environmental swabs.
Plate for hygiene indicators and perform molecular testing for foodborne pathogens.
Assist in sample preparation and receiving as needed.
Interpret and review microbiological data.
Skills or Requirements
B.S. in Microbiology, Food Science, Biology, or related field and 2–3 years of food microbiology testing experience.
Alternatively, 5+ years of food microbiology work experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.

Pay Range Estimated minimum rate: $15.40 Estimated maximum rate: $22.00
