Machine Operator I – Manufacturing

1st, 2nd, and 3rd Shift Salary $17-19 per hour + %
Job Summary The Machine Operator I supports manufacturing operations by operating production equipment used in the fabrication and assembly of customer products. This entry-level role works from prints, work instructions, and job travelers to ensure parts meet required specifications and tolerance standards. The operator is responsible for documenting production activity, performing inspections, and identifying equipment or process issues in accordance with standard procedures.
Key Responsibilities Operate manual and CNC production equipment in a manufacturing environment. Follow blueprints, drawings, and work instructions to produce parts within defined tolerances. Perform first-piece and in-process inspections using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and optical comparators. Maintain accurate records of inspections, production output, and ERP system transactions. Monitor product quality and take action to prevent defects. Support efficiency, quality improvement, and continuous improvement initiatives. Adjust priorities as production needs change and assist with cross-functional tasks as needed. Communicate issues related to equipment, materials, or processes to supervisors or leads. Perform additional duties as assigned to support manufacturing operations.
Qualifications Ability to work with small, close-tolerance components requiring high-quality finishes. Basic ability to read and interpret blueprints or technical drawings preferred. Mechanical aptitude and basic math skills with the ability to understand work instructions. One to two years of experience in a manufacturing or machine operator role is preferred. Strong communication skills, reliability, and a team-oriented mindset. Demonstrated problem-solving ability and commitment to productivity and quality.
Education High school diploma or equivalent required.
Physical Requirements Frequent repetitive motion and standing. Occasional lifting and carrying up to 40 lbs. Exposure to moving machinery and mechanical equipment. Continuous use of safety glasses and required PPE. Occasional sitting, walking, pushing, pulling, and reaching.
