The Marina Operator will conduct daily operations, provide customer service, and enforce security of lake related activities at the Oak Hollow Park marina and campground facility. Work is performed under regular supervision of the Oak Hollow Park Supervisor. Work schedule may include nights, weekends and holidays.**Essential Tasks & Responsibilities:*** Greets public and provides excellent customer service for patrons over the phone, in person, and in writing;* Plans and implements programs/events;* Uses the recreation software program to register users for programs, reserve park shelters, collect fees, assist with campground reservations and perform basic transactions related to merchandise and concessions sales; includes end of the day closing process;* Supervises the rental of city boats, boat launchings, and bank fishing;* Maintains records and completes related reports on park and marina attendance and revenue;* Patrols lake and monitors activities; responds to emergencies and provides assistance as needed in coordination with Park Rangers and other emergency personnel;* Enforces lake, park, and campground rules and regulations; communicates game law violations to conservation enforcement officers;* Educates the public on land and lake conservation;* Maintains facilities in a clean and orderly fashion, including boats, dock area, launch area, marina building, restrooms, and grounds;* Performs safety checks of patrol boat, fishing boats, kayaks/SUP’s, canoes, rental boats, life rings, life jackets, playground, and fire extinguishers;* Opens and closes park gates and the marina facility (often a solo task);* Supervises employees in the absence of the Park Supervisor;* Ensures that all work is performed in accordance with OSHA and City Safety Standards and Policies.**Qualifications:*** **Required Qualifications***:*

+ High School Diploma or GED equivalent

+ 4-year degree in Parks & Recreation (or related field) from an accredited university

+ Valid North Carolina Driver’s License* ***Physical/Mental Requirements:**** Hearing/Speaking - Expressing and/or receiving information by means of spoken word are both necessary to converse with internal and external customers including co-workers, citizens, and necessary to operate equipment safely and enforce safety regulations.

Visual Abilities – the ability to perceive via eyesight is required for this position:

+ Acuity, far – clarity of vision at 20 feet or more. Must be able to see people at a distance in order to monitor their activity and ensure their safety around the marina, lake, and surrounding park area. Both eyes 20/25 – R 20/30 – L 20/30 corrected

+ Acuity, near – clarity of vision at 20 inches or less. Must be able to see resale items, cash register, permits, and other work items close at hand, such as numerous documents that are inspected (licenses) or prepared on the job.

+ Depth perception – Three-dimensional vision and the ability to judge distance and space relationships so as to see objects where and as they actually are.

Must be able to judge distances when patrolling the lake and park for safety purposes.

+ Field of Vision – the area that can be seen up and down or to the right or left while eyes are focused on one point. Must be able to see a wide span of area to cover grounds and observe people and their activities in order to enforce rules and regulations.

This item is especially important when doing near-point work at varying distances from eye.

Must be able to adjust eye lens to focus readily when glancing from near work (equipment operation, documents near at hand, etc.) to distance work (people walking around facility) to monitor activities and ensure safety at all areas.* Physical Strength - degree of physical demands typically associated with this position include:
