Duties
Assist customers in selecting and fitting eyewear based on their prescription and personal style preferences Take accurate measurements of customers' eyes and facial features to ensure proper fit of eyeglasses Educate customers on lens options, coatings, and treatments to enhance visual clarity and protect eye health Process orders for eyewear and contact lenses, including verifying insurance coverage and obtaining necessary authorizations Adjust and repair eyewear as needed to ensure optimal comfort and functionality for customers Maintain accurate records of customer prescriptions, orders, and payments Stay up-to-date with current trends in eyewear fashion and technology
Skills
Licensing not necessary, will train the right person. Advancement to becoming a licensed optician a possibility. Proficient in medical records management, and understanding of physiology knowledge and systems Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality Experience using electronic health record systems for managing patient information Strong retail management skills to effectively handle inventory, sales, and customer service Knowledge of medical terminology to communicate effectively with healthcare professionals Understanding of medical billing processes for insurance claims submission
