We are seeking a dedicated Per-Diem Registered Nurse for an opening at a Medical Center in Selma, AL. In this role, you will deliver high-quality, compassionate care in a dynamic setting, managing a diverse patient population and collaborating with a skilled healthcare team. Why Join Us?

Per-diem schedule, day shifts from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM CST (includes a 30-minute break. Professional Growth:

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited program. Licensure:
Active, unencumbered RN license from the state of Alabama. Experience:
Minimum of 6 months of RN work experience. Technical Skills:
Current CPR certification (Basic Life Support preferred). Soft Skills:
Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, effective communication, cultural competency, collaboration, adaptability, and a positive attitude. Credentialing Requirements:
Clean background check, negative TB test results, annual physical, COVID-19 vaccination, and other requirements as specified by the facility or agency. Key Responsibilities
Provide vigilant, acute post-anesthesia care by continuously monitoring vital signs, airway, and neurological status as patients recover from sedation or general anesthesia. Assess and manage postoperative pain, nausea, and other potential complications promptly, administering medications and interventions per physician orders and protocols. Evaluate patient readiness for discharge from the PACU using standardized scoring systems (e.g., Aldrete Score) and ensure stable recovery milestones are met. Deliver comprehensive handoff communication to the receiving nursing unit or discharge team, providing a clear report on the patient’s procedure, recovery, and ongoing care needs. Provide clear, supportive discharge education to patients and caregivers regarding postoperative instructions, medication management, and warning signs requiring follow-up. How to Apply
