Clinical Informaticist/Application Trainer
Reporting to the Director of Clinical Informatics, the Clinical Informatics / Application Trainer utilizes clinical knowledge, skills, and experience to coordinate and evaluate all applications and end‑user training. The role partners closely with key clinical, financial, and administrative leaders and staff to effectively communicate information systems application training and governance plans. The trainer leads and supports monitoring, learning, and optimization of all RMH end‑user applications and other designated responsibilities as the position grows. The candidate will uphold RMH application training and Informaticist responsibilities and guidelines for the organization.
Job Summary
Coordinate all application training, standard setting, reporting, forms customization, application maintenance, and updates related to clinical software systems.
Apply broad clinical informatics knowledge and adult learning techniques to educate staff and leaders on new system features and functions.
Conduct regular informatics rounds & interviews with users and gather data to enhance clinical systems and promote end‑user satisfaction.
Develop, review, and redesign processes and workflows within hospital or clinic areas.
Investigate and resolve complex problems and coordinate innovative strategies and solutions.
Conduct root‑cause analysis and other Six Sigma/lean strategies to reduce process duplication, maximize application efficiency, and promote a productive work environment.
Respond to changing priorities and timelines.
Monitor clinical system performance and report anomalies, issues, or opportunities for improvement.
Complete IS ticket requests to meet SLA requirements and proactively respond to issues.
Develop, validate, and analyze clinical and financial reports (Cerner DA2).
Assist with EMR and clinical application maintenance in joint venture with end‑users, directors, managers, and Information Services analysts.
Conduct testing and documentation, review user requests, and create current and future state diagrams or presentations as needed.
Assess and identify risk and issues across all EMR and core applications.
Develop documentation and instruction manuals.
Provide in‑services, Lunch & Learns, and continuing education for software and hardware to users (classroom training).
Coordinate communication of new functionality, workflow changes, and user education; test all proposed changes and document outcomes on test scripts.
Maintain interaction with all clinical and ancillary areas to enhance patient care.
Participate in internal and external user group functions, departmental meetings, and change control meetings.
Familiarity with desktop applications including Microsoft Office, Teams, Zoom, and service request applications.
Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications
Education
Health/Clinical Informatics, Teaching (with clinical background), CMA, LPN, RN, or clinical related field.
Experience
Experience in a clinical, healthcare informatics, or clinical system analyst position.
Knowledge of and ability to interpret applicable healthcare industry regulations.
Excellent written, oral, instructional, presentation, and interpersonal skills with strong customer service orientation.
Project management and time management skills.
Highly self‑motivated, analytical thinker, and problem solver.
Ability to teach others in multifaceted settings.
Medical terminology knowledge.
Experience in testing, training, and educating end‑users.
