Job Summary Patient Services Leads coordinate patient meal service and special requests for the Patient Dining Program. They ensure Patient Dining Associates are trained and units are adequately staffed, creating a culture of comfort and compassion.
We are hiring immediately for a full‑time Patient Services Lead position. Location: THOP East Campus, 3280 Joe Battle Boulevard, El Paso, TX 79938. Schedule: full time; days and hours may vary.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Oversee systems and processes to ensure strategic and operational objectives of the Patient Dining Program are accomplished.
Supervise Patient Dining Associates and provide services that include helping patients make menu selections and assemble, deliver, or pick up their meal trays.
Work with caregivers and the culinary team to determine menu alternatives for patients with food allergies, sensitivities, and cultural, ethnic, and religious preferences.
Interact with nursing and evaluate patient meal selection, tray completion, delivery, and retrieval on a daily basis.
Respond to patients’ needs at all times and communicate problems or concerns to appropriate personnel in a timely manner following department procedures.
Assist dietitians by monitoring patients who cannot eat through the mouth, are on liquid diets, or have specific calorie counts.
Adhere to facility confidentiality and patient rights policies as outlined in HIPAA procedures.
Comply with federal, state, and JCAHO standards, including HACCP guidelines for meal assembly and distribution.
Complete daily, weekly, and monthly reports as outlined in policies and procedures.
Conduct daily associate team meetings following GR8 Start Meeting guidelines and template.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Ability to read and communicate using safety rules, procedure manuals, and operation instructions.
Aptitude for operating hospital admission, discharge, and transfer (ADT) system and other computer‑based patient records systems.
Capability to lift or move up to 100 pounds and maneuver food delivery carts. Reasonable accommodations available for qualified individuals with disabilities.
