We are searching for a classroom teacher who specializes in Project-Based Learning (PBL) and Proficiency-Based Instruction . This role is designed for an educator who prefers facilitating hands-on experiences and who values mastery of skills.
Core Responsibilities Curriculum Design: Build and implement interdisciplinary PBL units that meet state standards through authentic, real-world applications.
Assessment for Mastery: Use proficiency scales to evaluate student work and provide actionable feedback.
Individualized Pathways: Differentiate instruction based on where students are on the proficiency continuum, ensuring all students reach mastery at their own pace.
Classroom Management: Maintain a student-centered environment that fosters agency, collaboration, and critical thinking.
Desired Skills & Experience PBL Expertise: Demonstrated experience designing "Gold Standard" projects with a public product or exhibition.
Proficiency-Based Grading: Practical understanding of how to assess skills/competencies
Innovation: Ability to integrate modern technology and creative problem-solving into daily lessons.
Collaboration: Willingness to co-teach and plan with colleagues across different subject areas.
Experience in a non-traditional or competency-based learning environment is a strong plus.
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Education or relevant field.
Valid State Teaching License
