This role is part of our Patient Access Scheduler team, responsible for pre-registering and scheduling patient appointments, directing calls, providing information, scheduling admissions, pre-authorizing insurance, and serving as the first point of contact for patients with empathy and compassion.
Job Overview Are you an effective communicator who remains calm during critical situations? You will work remotely, maintaining quality and performance expectations in a self‑directed manner.
Training (first 4 weeks) is held Monday‑Friday full days (combination of remote and on‑site). The tentative start of the next class is February 16th. After training, you will join the schedule: Monday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday from 2:30 pm to 11:00 pm.
Key Responsibilities
Pre‑register and schedule patient appointments for assigned services and appropriate providers.
Direct calls to the appropriate area for services not provided in Patient Access Scheduling.
Receive requests for information and distribute material in a timely manner.
Schedule, admit, and pre‑authorise insurance for all patients in the assigned area.
Serve as the first point of contact, working with callers/patients to facilitate an empathetic and compassionate solution and help them navigate the complex system.
Required Qualifications
2 years in a direct customer‑facing sales or service setting.
Preferred Qualifications
Associate of Arts degree or completion of a medical terminology program.
2 years of experience in a medical setting.
