Job Opportunity We are looking for a
Rental Equipment Technician
to join our growing operations (Louisiana Rents) at our
Baton Rouge, Louisiana
location.
Salary Potential Yearly range: $60,000–$72,000. This range is representative of the hourly rate, including typical overtime.
Your Value: Responsibilities
Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair and perform preventative maintenance on all components of heavy rental equipment—engines, power trains, hydraulics, fuel systems.
Read and interpret equipment manuals, mechanical and electrical schematics to determine the repair method on failed components.
Replace or repair defective components using hand tools, gauges and testing equipment.
Assemble and install electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic equipment using hand or power tools.
Rebuild, install and align pump assemblies using safe rigging methods.
Create, track and formalize work orders in a timely manner.
Be flexible with changing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
Your Growth
Promote positive customer service for Louisiana Cat Rental Stores according to Caterpillar and Louisiana Cat expectations.

Most Important Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Minimum of 3 years of field experience.
Strong mechanical aptitude.
Basic understanding of hand tools.
Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Must own required tool inventory (Louisiana Cat offers exclusive Tooling Program).
Strong customer service skills and professionalism, safety‑first mentality.
Job Facts
Shift: Monday–Friday 7 am–5 pm; may require work outside standard hours.
Environment: Requires physical movement, lifting, squatting, bending, climbing; working with mechanical rotating parts in the Louisiana climate.
Physical Demands
Stand; use hands, fingers, arms. Lift 75 lb from floor to chest. Reach, stoop, kneel, squat; perform mechanical operations.
Climb onto and operate equipment, handle field service vehicle (GVW Work Environment
Indoors around moving mechanical parts, potentially exposed to weather extremes and chemicals.
Noise can be loud; protective equipment required.
Work may involve cramped spaces and high places.
