Executes all pre‑clinical scientific research and/or development strategies in research and development. Investigates the feasibility of applying a wide variety of scientific principles and concepts to potential inventions, products and problems. Plans and executes laboratory research. Maintains broad knowledge of state‑of‑the‑art principles and theories.
Opportunity As a Scientist, you will provide testing support for product and process research and development (including design, development, analysis, troubleshooting, etc). You will apply sound experimental design and perform complex scientific research to support research and development of product formulations and/or analytical methods.
Responsibilities
Apply deep and intensive knowledge of scientific principles.
Perform laboratory based studies and experimentation to generate data relevant to various product development projects across Diagnostics, specifically, the Diabetes Care portfolio.
Test and assess innovative technologies as part of our Research and Early Development Scouting efforts.
Participate in interdepartmental or cross‑functional decisions on projects.
Independently identify technical objectives and opportunities, as well as risks and alternatives.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related Life Sciences field with 5 years of relevant experience or Master of Science/PhD with 2 years of relevant experience.
2+ years of experience in biomedical or analytical chemistry and 2+ years of experience in the field of biosensors.
Possess an in‑depth knowledge and experience in the field of analytical chemistry, electrochemistry, biosensors, in‑vitro diagnostics, and/or biomedical engineering.
Apply scientific principles in a broad range of technical assignments, making independent decisions based on sound scientific reasoning and analysis.
Highly organized and able to manage multiple parallel projects and work packages.
Previous lab‑based role or safety‑focused role.
Preferred Experience
More than 5 years of progressive work experience in an appropriate scientific field.
