Head Women's Flag Football Coach
Job Summary
Serving as the inaugural Head Women's Flag Football Coach at Jackson State Community College, this position will prepare students to compete in the NJCAA and Tennessee Community College Athletic Association, manage and plan yearly budgets and fundraising within the Athletic Department, maintain athletic facility, and oversee all day-to-day operations of the Flag Football Program.
Job Duties
Recruiting, evaluating and identifying potential student-athletes
Advise student-athletes academic plan
Monitoring academic needs and eligibility for student-athletes
Develop student-athletes’s skills and knowledge of the game
Completing and reporting in a timely fashion, all department, college, and conference administrative information
Management of a team budget
Hiring and supervising assistant coaches
Assisting with scheduling of games and practices, equipment purchases, and travel arrangements
Responsible for maintaining game/practice fields
Oversee game day operations
This position may require overnight or weekend travel
Performs additional duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
A bachelor's degree in a related field, from an accredited college/university
Prior related coaching experience
Candidates must have knowledge of NJCAA and TCCAA rules in relation to flag football, and good communication skills, both verbal and written
Candidates must have a valid driver's license and be insurable by the university's insurance carrier
Preferred Qualifications
A master’s degree in a related field, from an accredited college/university
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of the sport, the recruiting process, rules, and regulations of the NJCAA and TCCAA, and the JSCC bylaws
Must be able to organize and handle all aspects of administration and adhere to the rules and regulations of Jackson State Community College, the Tennessee Community College Athletic Association and the NJCAA
Physical Demands / Working Conditions
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
Prolonged periods of standing at timesProlonged screen time
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times
Pay Rate $41,984 - $52,480 (Annual salary depending on eligible experience, which is defined by the current compensation plan.)
