Lab Technician I – Fiber Optics Key role in bringing our projects to life by building and testing fiber optic cables in a hands‑on lab environment. This position directly supports our field teams and customers, helping ensure quality, efficiency, and reliable performance every step of the way. You’ll have the opportunity to apply your technical skills to real‑world challenges, troubleshoot issues, and be part of a team that values precision, problem‑solving, and continuous learning.
Responsibilities
Identify basic Fiber Optic cables and materials
Learn and perform basic cable builds
Fill orders to include spooling fiber cable, kitting materials, assembling basic enclosures, etc.
Demonstrate familiarity with recording inventory quantities using Vista and Microsoft Excel
Organize and document warehouse stock
Assist with inventory control
Working Conditions
Sit / use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls / reach with hands and arms for extended periods
Twist, pinch, pull with fingers and hands repetitively
Lift and/or move up to 75‑100 pounds when required
Ability to work under minimal supervision
Ability to focus on tedious tasks
Ability to differentiate color codes
Basic power tool operation
Able to take accurate measurements with a tape measure
Able to follow work direction both verbally and in writing
Must possess verbal and written communication skills with the ability to maintain professionalism
