Our Ambulatory Surgery Center allows us to provide safe, efficient, and compassionate surgical care in an outpatient setting.
Position Overview We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Pre-Op/PACU Nurse to join our surgical team. This unique role combines both pre-operative and post-recovery care, ensuring patients are supported throughout their surgical journey. The position is Monday–Friday, daytime hours only—no nights, weekends, or holidays.
Responsibilities
Conduct thorough pre-operative assessments, including vitals, medical history, medications, and allergies.
Start and manage IVs, verify consents, and prepare patients for surgery.
Provide patient and family education on surgical procedures, expectations, and recovery instructions.
Monitor patients in the PACU following anesthesia—manage vitals, airway, pain, and nausea.
Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and discharge protocols.
Ensure patients meet established recovery criteria before safe discharge.
Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical staff to deliver seamless care.
Maintain compliance with ASC safety and infection control standards.
Support seamless patient care by assisting other Solstice Health clinic locations as needed.
Qualifications
Active RN license in Wisconsin.
BLS/ACLS certification required.
1–2 years of recent experience in Pre-Op, PACU, or perioperative nursing.
Strong communication, assessment, and critical-thinking skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced outpatient surgical environment.
