Position Summary Charter College is seeking a talented, enthusiastic, and experienced
DMS Full Time Instructor
to support our new Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
The DMS Full Time Instructor is responsible for all sonography student instruction in accordance with Charter College policies, procedures, and curriculum requirements. This role reports directly to the
DMS Program Director .
Duties & Responsibilities
Prepare and deliver all lecture, laboratory, and clinical instruction per the required curriculum
Follow approved course outlines, objectives, and evaluation methods
Create a learning environment that supports cognitive, affective, and psychomotor student outcomes
Mentor students in developing professional sonography skills, values, and behaviors
Assess student learning using varied instructional and evaluation strategies
Maintain professional competency and commit to lifelong learning
Recognize teaching as a scholarly activity and engage in ongoing professional development
Monitor and document student attendance and retention
Provide academic assistance during scheduled office hours or by appointment
Coordinate with administration to obtain supplies and educational materials
Maintain a professional appearance at all times
Communicate regularly with the DMS Program Director regarding student progress and concerns
Maintain RDMS certification in good standing
Ensure students adhere to catalog and program guidelines
Attend all required meetings and serve on committees as assigned
Perform other duties as needed
Qualifications & Skills
Minimum of
3 years of experience as a Registered Sonographer
3 years of teaching and/or precepting experience , including supervision, evaluation, and student guidance
Strong understanding of educational theories and instructional techniques
Current
RDMS certification
(ARRT accepted)
Workload Expectations
Full-time faculty are expected to teach at least one didactic course and one clinical rotation
Direct student contact hours:
20–25 hours per week
Additional responsibilities include tutoring, lesson preparation, curriculum development, faculty development, office hours, departmental meetings, and substituting for colleagues as needed (no additional compensation)
Faculty must complete
one in-service education session per quarter
and ongoing professional development activities
