Job Summary With our ongoing growth, we seek a skilled Traveling Field Service Technician to handle the setup, installation, maintenance, and repairs of heavy‑duty industrial equipment. The ideal candidate excels in mechanical diagnostics, interpreting blueprints, electrical diagrams, and pneumatic systems. You must thrive in a flexible environment with extensive travel, variable schedules, and potential overtime, while prioritizing professionalism and client satisfaction in industrial settings.

Responsibilities

Exhibit strong professionalism, commitment, and enthusiasm for outstanding customer service.

Interact clearly, effectively, and courteously with clients, supervisors, and team members.

Set up, diagnose, and fix equipment by applying resourceful mechanical and problem‑solving skills, performing hands‑on assessments to resolve issues even without standard tools or protocols.

Apply expertise in both high‑ and low‑voltage electrical systems.

Deliver hands‑on training to customers on equipment operation and upkeep.

Prepare detailed service reports covering completed tasks, time logged, travel details, expenses, and equipment status.

Secure customer approvals on reports and submit all paperwork immediately after finishing a job.

Turn in service reports, timesheets, and expense documentation on time.

Update the Service Scheduler and/or Manager daily on job status, scheduling changes, and any client issues.

Adapt quickly and independently to scheduling shifts or evolving customer requirements.

Handle additional tasks as needed in a fast‑moving workplace, including flexibility for occasional evening, weekend, or overnight shifts.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).

At least 3 years of hands‑on experience troubleshooting mechanical issues on industrial machinery.

Capability to interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and pneumatic diagrams.

Familiarity with testing tools (e.g., for coolant, CFM, static pressure, multimeter).

Comfortable using computers and Microsoft Office applications.

Willingness to travel on short notice and adjust to changing schedules.

Previous background in installing and diagnosing problems with industrial equipment.

Preferred Qualifications

Associate’s degree in Electronics, Industrial Mechanics, HVAC, or similar technical discipline.

Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.

Experience specifically with industrial machine installation and troubleshooting.

Additional Eligibility Requirements

Valid driver’s license with a clean driving history.

Ability to clear background checks and drug tests as mandated.

Percentage of Travel Required

80–100% domestic travel expected.

Rare international trips may be required.

Overtime, including evenings or weekends, may be necessary based on workload.

Compensation and Benefits We provide a competitive pay package with an hourly rate of $31–$36. Employees are guaranteed 40 hours per week, with overtime opportunities available and double time pay for Sundays.

Location Our headquarters are in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where new hires will complete their initial one‑month training period.
