Van’s Aircraft is seeking a skilled Composite and Sheet Metal Fabrication Technician to support the production of our industry-leading aircraft kits. Your Mission, Should You Choose To Accept

Fabricate and prepare fiberglass components for assembly, including wet layup, bodywork, sanding, trimming, and finishing

Execute fiberglass and metal part repairs with accuracy and attention to detail

Prepare and assemble metal parts using layout, trimming, deburring, priming, and riveting techniques

Comprehend and follow build instructions, blueprints, and manufacturing process documents

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area

Identify and implement process improvements using LEAN manufacturing principles

Perform self‑inspections and participate in quality assurance efforts across the team

Work safely with fiberglass materials, resins, adhesives, and solvents

Collaborate effectively with team members while also being capable of working independently

Consistently wear appropriate PPE based on task and area‑specific requirements

Use arithmetic skills (including fraction‑to‑decimal conversions) to support fabrication tasks

What You’ll Bring To The Team

Five or more years of experience in fiberglass layup, sheet metal fabrication, or similar trades preferred

High school diploma or equivalent required

Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship

Demonstrated ability to interpret and follow technical documentation

Understanding of safe work practices and PPE in a manufacturing setting

Enthusiasm for contributing to a team that builds high‑quality aircraft kits

Work Environment This role operates in a dynamic, hands‑on manufacturing environment with exposure to fiberglass, solvents, and metalwork. Team members are expected to stand, walk, bend, and use hand tools throughout the shift. PPE is provided and required. The role supports Van’s commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement in our production processes.
