Systems Engineer I – Manufacturing Operations
Location: Round Lake, IL. Salary: $88,000.00–$121,000.00 (approx).
Responsibilities
Serve as a Systems Engineer I supporting manufacturing operations at Baxter in Round Lake, IL.
Lead and schedule small projects or portions of larger projects with minimal supervision.
Develop, design, and implement large scale PLC programs, HMI, vision, and servo systems for manufacturing equipment.
Interface and collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including design, engineering, technicians, plant staff, and vendors, to ensure project success.
Utilize knowledge of electrical and pneumatic systems, with hands‑on experience in control system design using SolidWorks Electrical and Rockwell Automation software (RSLogix5000/Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View Studio ME/SE).
Apply experience with robotic programming (Fanuc, Omron, Staubli) and vision systems (Cognex); healthcare manufacturing experience is a plus.
Prepare accurate project schedules and cost estimates; track project budgets and manage project funds.
Analyze and resolve field issues by developing and implementing design improvements.
Operate effectively in cross‑functional teams, occasionally providing guidance to other engineers or technicians.
Contribute to process improvements and standardization within controls technology and programming.
Communicate clearly and persuasively with customers, partners, and management, both verbally and in writing.
Support and ensure manufacturing objectives are met while considering cost implications.
