Mechanical Quality Engineer - Lead I, Engineering Design
Location: Schenectady, NY (New York)
We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Quality Engineer to join our team in Schenectady, NY. This role focuses on engineering qualification, supplier collaboration, and manufacturing support for generator components and systems.
Responsibilities
Assist in engineering qualification of stator bars and H35 Generator with supplier.
Assist in qualification of H53 Generator with supplier.
Support H65 dual source qualifications for punchings.
Create test plans, implement the test plan and documentation.
Support qualification of outsourced generators.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline.
3+ years of experience in generator design, qualification, or manufacturing support.
Proficiency in PLM systems, BOM creation, and engineering documentation.
Strong understanding of generator components, industrialization processes, and supplier qualification.
Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with GE generators or similar OEM equipment.
Familiarity with NPI, RCA, SDR, NCN, ER processes.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deliverables under tight deadlines.
Compensation $87,000 – $131,000 per year.
