Controller – Fast‑Growing Manufacturing Company – Portland, OR
Location:
Portland, OR (Hybrid – 1–2 days onsite)
Reporting directly to the CFO, you will lead a talented 4‑person accounting team and own the financial engine of a growing manufacturing business.
Key Priorities
Team Leadership:
Mentor and manage a dedicated finance squad of four.
Monthly Close:
Drive a tight monthly close process.
Financial Integrity:
Lead the annual 3rd‑party audit and manage tax filings with external partners.
Treasury & Cash:
Oversee cash flow forecasting and working capital management.
Business Partnership:
Lead monthly departmental finance reviews and serve as a consultant to business partners.
Who You Are
Experienced:
8+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2+ years in a Controller‑level seat.
Manufacturing Savvy:
Experience in manufacturing is highly preferred; you understand inventory, COGS, and supply chain nuances.
Scale‑Ready:
You’ve operated in the $20M–$100M revenue range.
Systems Literate:
You have navigated ERP implementations or optimizations and are an Excel expert.
People‑Centric:
You enjoy the human side of finance—communicating initiatives across departments and developing staff.
What You Will Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (or equivalent experience)
10+ years of advancing responsibilities within accounting and financial management
5+ years directly managing and mentoring high‑performing teams
Deep proficiency in GAAP standards, internal controls, and statutory reporting requirements
Demonstrated success in managing complex budgets, variance analysis, and long‑range forecasting
Ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for non‑financial stakeholders and department heads
High‑level proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience navigating integrated ERP environments
