JOIN OUR TEAM AS A SR. BUDGET ANALYST! This role involves advanced and professional collection, development, and evaluation of data to develop/implement/administer County Budget. Sr. Budget Analysts are leaders in a budget office and will manage projects, perform complex analysis or be responsible for certain portions of the budget process (such as revenue forecasting, assisting with annual tax compliance, etc.). Sr. Budget Analysts, as a result of having experience in developing and monitoring the organization’s budget, often have good knowledge of the organization and its programs and services and have developed good working relationships with other staff throughout the organization. Sr. Budget Analysts are often able to gain additional experience that makes them attractive for leadership development positions within budget, finance, or other operational departments.

Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and processes.

Knowledge of financial management and budget preparation.

Knowledge of laws, ordinances, and regulations governing government financial matters.

Knowledge of economic assumptions for budgeting and preparing budget estimates.

Knowledge of legislative Process and Bill analysis.

Knowledge of budget planning, formulation, monitoring, and execution.

Ability to understand and interpret policies, procedures, and regulations.

Ability to use financial management and accounting systems.

Ability to use data visualization software and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software and other tools to simplify complex data.

Ability to develop financial models.

Ability to per statistical analysis.

Ability to create and deliver financial reports.

Ability to research and analyze budget variances.

Ability to assist with management audits and feasibility studies.

Ability to provide data associated with impact fee updates.

Ability to assist with the Electronic Truth in Millage process for compliance with Florida Property Tax Laws.

Ability to assist with debt management (issuance, compliance, etc.).

Ability to analyze, interpret, and present financial data and information.

Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

Ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Ability to pay attention to details and maintain accuracy.

Ability to think strategically and problem-solve.

Physical Skills Ability to communicate effectively using verbal, written and visual communication. Ability to operate a computer and to use a keyboard to enter data.

Education, Training and Experience Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field, and (2) years of related experience. Master of Public Administration (MPA) or similar advanced degree preferred.

Licenses, Certifications or Registrations Must possess a valid Florida driver's license.
