Job Overview
Registered Nurse (RN) – L&D – 2506002439 is a nighttime position at DMC Sinai–Grace Hospital, located in the 10‑bed LDRP unit with 3 operating rooms and 4 OB‑ED triage rooms. The unit follows AWHONN guidelines for RN to patient ratios, utilizes 1:1 Pitocin induction or augmentation in active labor, 1:2 cervical ripening, 1:1 C‑sections, and 1:3/4 for other major procedures. RNs are expected to be EFM certified, NRP, ACLS, and may serve as RNC or lactation counselors.
The department is equipped with delivery beds, Panda warmers, infant transporters, infant scales, fetal monitors, bedside ultrasound, and a bili‑meter. DMC is a leading regional provider of cardiac, cancer, geriatric, emergency, obstetric/gynecologic, and cosmetic care and operates multiple outpatient sites.
Responsibilities
Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with physicians and other health care providers.
Delegate, assess, provide and evaluate patient care activities.
Provide and delegate patient care activities to team members.
Monitor patient progress and prepare patients for discharge.
Report directly to senior unit management and participate in shared decision‑making activities.
Apply independent judgment, communication, and collaboration with all team members, including ancillary and support services.
Exhibit leadership, partnership, collaboration, teaching, and supervision within the Patient Care Services Team.
Qualifications
Graduation from a school of nursing required.
BSN preferred.
Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Michigan required.
American Heart Association (AHA) BLS required.
