About This Role As an Emergency Department RN at NVRH, you'll thrive in a fast-paced environment, delivering high-quality care to patients experiencing urgent and emergent conditions. This role demands adaptability, clinical expertise, and compassionate communication as you respond to diverse medical situations in a critical access hospital setting.
Key Responsibilities
Provide immediate and comprehensive nursing care using the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate treatment for patients of all ages in emergency situations
Administer medications, manage IV therapy, and operate specialized emergency equipment while adhering to evidence-based protocols
Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to stabilize patients and coordinate care transitions
Educate patients and families during high-stress situations, ensuring clear communication and continuity of care
Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and mentor new staff within the Emergency Department
Required Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; BSN preferred
Current Vermont or multi-state RN license required
Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association required
TNCC preferred; PALS certification required within 1 year of hire
Emergency nursing experience preferred, but new graduates with strong clinical skills and interest in emergency care are encouraged to apply
