Job Summary
Registered Nurse – Ambulatory Surgical Center (ASC) – Hawthorne Surgical Center, 1999 South Hawthorne Road, Winston Salem
Providing nursing care in both the pre‑operative (pre‑op) and post‑anesthesia care unit (PACU) areas. Responsibilities include primary nursing duties, cross‑training to other primary areas, coordinating telephone pre‑admission assessments, and participating in daily operative and turnover activities.
Schedule & Location
Full‑time (40 hours per week); rotating pre‑op (0615‑1445) and PACU (0730‑1600). Hours vary by day assignment.
M-F schedule; no weekends, no major holidays, and no on‑call shifts.
Location: Hawthorne Surgical Center, 1999 South Hawthorne Road, Winston Salem.
Common procedures include Ophthalmology, Pain, and Podiatry; cross‑training across pre‑op, phase I, and phase II recovery.
Requires prior experience in pre‑op/PACU, ICU, ED, or critical care.
Responsibilities The Registered Nurse ASC functions as a team member in an ASC environment, assisting with turnover, and handling all aspects of day‑to‑day ASC operations. The role also includes the coordination of the telephone pre‑admission assessment process for ASC patients.
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited nursing school (RN required).
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
Current valid North Carolina nursing license or Multi‑State/Compact license required.
One year of relevant nursing experience preferred.
