Birthing Pavilion
is a
21-room, 24-bed Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) unit
with about
1,300 deliveries each year . And because
55% of our patients are high-risk
through our
Maternal Fetal Medicine
service, you’ll practice at the top of your license in a setting where skill, teamwork, and calm leadership matter every day. About the Patients and Unit We care for patients across the full spectrum from
antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, normal newborn care, and focused care newborn care
all in one cohesive LDRP model. We also serve as a regional resource, receiving
transports from all of New Hampshire, Southern Vermont, and occasionally Maine .
You’ll be supported by a strong, multidisciplinary environment including a
robust midwifery service , a
generalist physician service , and a unit designed for efficient, safe flow complete with a
two-bed triage room
where we triage all patients.
And when a delivery turns into “all hands on deck,” you’re not on an island: we collaborate closely with the
Emergency Department, ICU, CVCCU, and the Main OR
to deliver highly specialized care for pregnant and postpartum patients.
What makes this unit different? Our pavilion includes
two dedicated operating rooms , and
every RN is trained in perioperative care
including
circulating, scribing, and PACU services . Plus, the
ICN/NICU is right next door , and we work in tight partnership with their team for seamless escalation and newborn support.
Your Role as a Birthing Pavilion RN
Provide hands-on nursing care across the
full LDRP continuum
(antepartum through postpartum)
Support
high-risk obstetric patients
in partnership with Maternal Fetal Medicine
Triage patients in our dedicated triage space and respond quickly to clinical changes
Deliver safe, evidence-based care during labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum
Train and function in
OB perioperative workflows
(circulator/scribe) and
PACU care
Collaborate closely with
midwives, physicians, NICU, ED/ICU/CVCCU, and OR teams
to coordinate care and transitions

Requirements:
Registered Nurse (RN)
licensed or eligible in New Hampshire
BLS certification
required upon hire
Fetal Heart Monitoring
(Intermediate or Advanced) within 6 months of hire
C-EFM accepted in place of FHM
New grads/internal transfers: within 1 year
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
certification within 6 months of hire
