Job Overview

Our client is looking for an experienced

Fleet & Equipment Mechanic and Shop Manager

to maintain the readiness, safety, and organization of all company vehicles, trailers, equipment, the yard, and the warehouse. This role supports daily field operations, ensuring crews are equipped to mobilize efficiently. Primary Responsibilities

Morning Crew Support

Provide daily assistance during morning staging, loading, and unloading. Ensure crews depart promptly and with all necessary equipment and materials.

Equipment & Parts Logistics

Handle pickup and delivery of equipment, tools, and parts for field operations and repairs.

Daily Yard Vehicle Inspection

Inspect all trucks and trailers left in the yard to ensure readiness for the next crew. Report any issues or deficiencies identified during inspection.

Friday Full‑Fleet Inspection & Maintenance

Conduct comprehensive inspections of all trucks, trailers, and equipment every Friday. Check and top off oil and fluid levels. Refuel all equipment and gas cans. Inspect trailer lighting systems and connections. Identify and address mechanical or safety issues. Perform repairs or flag items for service. Refuel trucks below half a tank if time permits.

Weekly Yard Safety Checks

Perform weekly inspections of the yard for safety hazards. Document hazards and corrective actions taken.

Service Scheduling & Recordkeeping

Track maintenance schedules for all vehicles and equipment. Maintain service logs and inspection records for compliance. Contact Safaf at Samsara to schedule full training on maintenance recordkeeping within Samsara.

Yard & Warehouse Organization

Maintain general organization, cleanliness of the yard, warehouse, and parts rooms. Proactively identify and resolve issues without waiting for direction.

Safety Meeting Logging & Filing

Review safety meeting sign‑in sheets to confirm all field staff signed. Follow up with individuals missing signatures and report absences to management. Log safety meetings into system and file hard copies in safety folder/binder.

Periodic Inspections

Safety Inspections – weekly inspections in warehouse & yard for hazards; keep a blank safety checklist to fill weekly. Emergency Response Readiness – ensure emergency equipment stocked, accessible, inspected monthly; maintain logs. Tool & Equipment Inventory – maintain up‑to‑date inventory and notify management when supplies are low. Company Policy Violations – report any violations found during inspections.
