JOB SUMMARY: Manual Machinist
is responsible for modification, and operation of industrial manual machinery of large pump parts to precise specifications. The Manual Machinist develops and maintains these parts utilizing knowledge of metal properties, layout, and machining procedures. The successful candidate will be experienced with machining on equipment such as:
Vertical Turret Lathes and/or Manual Lathes or Horizontal Boring Mills.
Responsibilities and Qualifications:
Experienced in machining large pump components such as cases, impellers, wear‑rings, bearing housings, shafts, covers.
Must be able to hold close tolerances (+/- 0.001”).
Experience in plane and bore of horizontal pump casings is a plus.
Sufficient mathematical skills are required to compute angle’s, radii, bolt circles and other dimensions.
Must be able to read and interpret blueprints.
Overhead crane experience.
A minimum of 3 years experience is required.
Journeyman status as a machinist or a machinist mate in the military, or equivalent work experience is desired.
Candidates experienced in the pump or rotating equipment industry will be strongly considered.

8 hour shift
Monday to Friday
Overtime available
Shift premium
Weekend availability when necessary
Experience:
Manual Machining: 5 years (Preferred), 3 years minimum requirement
