About The Position Are you interested in a meaningful career that enhances and improves facility operations? Consider applying for our Predictive Maintenance Specialist position! As a Predictive Maintenance Specialist, you will be responsible for Maricopa County’s predictive maintenance program. You will manage the collection and analysis of vibration, ultrasound, and thermographic information on mechanical and electrical systems to ensure all County assets are operating at optimal levels.

About Us As the landlord for all facilities owned by Maricopa County, the Facilities Management Department is responsible for the planning, design, construction, maintenance, and operations of more than 200 facilities comprised of over 10 million square feet. Facilities Management is made up of a collaborative team that provides and performs various functions to meet the facility-related needs of all Maricopa County Departments. Our broad range of services includes various aspects of the ongoing operations and maintenance of all County-owned facilities, management of all facility projects, and in-house design services.

We Require

Five years of journey-level experience in electrical, electronic components, or HVAC

High school diploma or GED

Specialized training in Industrial Preventive Maintenance may substitute for one year of the experience requirement

Other Requirements

Successful candidates must currently possess, or have the ability to obtain, a valid Arizona driver's license by the time of hire

Must complete a Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) background investigation to access County detention facilities

Must be able to obtain a Level 1 Thermography certification within 1 year

We Also Value

Practical ultrasound, Thermography, or a certificate from an instrumentation training program

Experience with Maintenance Management Systems (MMS) such as Maximo

A Universal EPA Certification

Job Contributions

Interpret the results using all methods of non-destructive testing (NDT) such as acoustic emission, electromagnetic, leak, liquid penetrant, magnetic particle, neutron radiographic, radiographic, thermal or infrared, ultrasonic, vibration analysis, and visual testing

Produce images and report deficiencies using non-destructive techniques; establish baseline readings, analyze data, and make recommendations to optimize productivity and performance

Repair deficiencies found during analysis to make sure all equipment complies with all applicable codes, standards, specifications, or procedures

Capture data, document findings, and maintain critical records (develop baselines, trend data, interpret results, testing schedules, and equipment history)

Identify, select, and operate predictive maintenance equipment, high-tech Infrared, Ultrasonic, Vibration testing, and laser alignment equipment

Install electrical circuits from 24v to 600v, layout, bend, and install conduit, and perform load calculations on electrical distribution systems

Ability to read blueprints and provide red-line and one-line revisions

Communicate with supervisors and coworkers, both verbally and in writing

Working Conditions

Exerting 50 - 100 pounds occasionally, 10 - 25 pounds frequently, or up to 10 - 20 pounds constantly

Incumbent may be subjected to extreme temperatures, wetness/humidity, respiratory hazards, and noise and vibration

Incumbent may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, vibrations, fumes, odors, dust, poor ventilation, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, workspace restrictions, intense noises, and travel

The work will occur in an office and field environment. While performing the duties and responsibilities, the employee may be exposed to loud noise, noxious odors, unsanitary conditions, chemicals, electricity, moving mechanical parts, varying weather conditions, and other related conditions and situations. Position is subject to atmospheric conditions: fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation

This position may require a rotating on-call/stand-by schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays

Protective Equipment Required Must be capable of using various forms of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required to fulfill the requirements of the position.

Special working environments include, but are not limited to Adult and juvenile detention facilities, medical facilities (both detention and public health), forensics, courts, and related justice facilities.
