New York / NY–NJ Region | Full-Time | Field-Based Role
Quest International is seeking a
hands‑on Field Service Technician
currently residing in
New York or the NY–NJ region
to support customer needs across
medical, industrial, and regulated environments .
This is a
true field service role —not an internal IT, helpdesk, or system administration position. Technicians in this role work independently at customer sites performing
physical installation, troubleshooting, and repair of deployed equipment .

Compensation Hourly Pay Range:
$29.00 – $33.00 per hour (DOE)
This range reflects the expected hourly pay at time of hire. Overtime and travel‑related premiums may be available based on scheduling and business needs.

Hourly, Non‑Exempt
Schedule & Hours
Monday–Friday , daytime hours
On‑call rotation
required as business needs dictate
40 hours per week
(standard), with flexibility for service demands
Job Summary This role provides
installation, preventive maintenance, and corrective maintenance
on
A/V and electro‑mechanical equipment
in
medical and other regulated environments .
Technicians:
Work
independently in the field
Travel between customer sites
Represent Quest International on‑site
Ensure equipment reliability, compliance, and professional service delivery
This role is
equipment‑facing and physically hands‑on , not desk‑based.
Essential Functions
Perform
multi‑step, hands‑on troubleshooting
on assigned service calls
Install, maintain, and service
A/V and electro‑mechanical systems
Mount monitors, speakers, racks, and related hardware
Run, terminate, and verify cabling (HDMI, Coax, Cat5/Cat6, USB)
Perform
FRU‑level repairs
and component replacement
Provide phone support to customers and other field engineers as needed
Participate in
on‑call rotation
for urgent service events
Coordinate parts shipments, returns, and inventory usage
Document all service activity clearly, accurately, and promptly
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and service quality standards
Required Skills & Qualifications This role requires prior hands‑on field service experience.
Candidates
must
demonstrate:
Experience servicing
electro‑mechanical, A/V, or medical device equipment
Ability to troubleshoot equipment to the
FRU level
Proficiency with diagnostic tools, including:
Digital multimeter
Vacuum/pressure meter
Frequency counter
Strong understanding of cable media:
Coax, HDMI, USB, Cat5/Cat6
Hands‑on experience
mounting A/V equipment
(monitors, speakers, racks)
Familiarity with A/V systems such as:
Control systems
Audio consoles
Power amplifiers
DSPs
Video matrix switchers/scalers
PC‑based control interfaces
DVRs
Strong customer‑facing communication and documentation skills
Ability to stand up to 8 hours per day
Ability to bend, stoop, twist, crawl, and climb as required
Ability to lift up to
50 lbs
(assisted or unassisted)
Travel Requirements
Up to 80% regional travel (home most weekends)
Ability to independently manage:
Travel bookings
Expense tracking and reporting
Valid driver’s license and ability to rent a vehicle
