Maintenance Supervisor responsible for leading a team of maintenance technicians and performing hands‑on maintenance and troubleshooting on electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems, while ensuring safe, reliable operation of all plant equipment and facilities.
Position summary
Oversee day‑to‑day maintenance activities for production equipment, utilities, and facility systems to minimize downtime and support production goals.
Lead and develop a maintenance team, providing technical guidance in electrical , hydraulic, and mechanical maintenance and repair.
Ensure all maintenance work follows company safety policies and regulatory requirements.
Key responsibilities
Plan, prioritize, and assign corrective and preventive maintenance work orders for electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical equipment.
Troubleshoot and repair faults in motors, drives, power distribution, hydraulic power units, cylinders, valves, pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, and related equipment (no PLC programming or troubleshooting required).
Develop and maintain preventive and predictive maintenance schedules to improve equipment reliability and extend asset life.
Inspect facilities and equipment regularly, identify maintenance needs, and ensure timely completion and quality of work.
Coordinate and oversee outside contractors for specialized maintenance or projects, ensuring adherence to scope, safety, and quality standards.
Maintain accurate records of work orders, parts usage, and equipment history using the company’s maintenance systems.
Enforce safe work practices, conduct toolbox talks, and support incident investigations and corrective actions.
Required qualifications
Proven experience as a maintenance supervisor or lead technician in an industrial, manufacturing, or facilities environment.
Strong hands‑on experience in electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems, including troubleshooting and repair of industrial machinery and support systems.
Working knowledge of preventive maintenance methods, reliability concepts, and maintenance best practices.
Familiarity with relevant safety regulations and standards (lockout/tagout, machine guarding, electrical and mechanical safety).
Basic computer skills to use maintenance and office software for scheduling, work orders, and reporting.
Preferred skills and abilities
Demonstrated leadership skills, including coaching, performance feedback, and conflict resolution within a maintenance team.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, hydraulic diagrams, and mechanical drawings.
Strong problem‑solving mindset with a focus on root‑cause analysis and long‑term corrective actions.
Effective communication skills to collaborate with production, engineering, safety, and external vendors.
Education and certifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical/vocational training in industrial maintenance, electrical, or mechanical technology strongly preferred.
Relevant trade licenses or certifications in electrical, hydraulic, or mechanical maintenance are an asset.
