Job Summary Location: Nebraska Methodist College
Address: 720 N. 87th St., Omaha, NE
Work Schedule: Clinical hours vary between 6, 8, 10 and 12‑hour shifts depending on the course, weekdays with daytime hours.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and facilitate engaging clinical experiences for nursing students, guiding them through hands‑on patient care scenarios.
Collaborate with fellow faculty members to design and deliver innovative, evidence‑based nursing curriculum.
Cultivate a supportive and interactive learning environment, promoting critical thinking, clinical judgment, and compassionate care.
Mentor and advise students, providing constructive feedback to enhance their clinical skills and professional development.
Stay current with industry trends and best practices, infusing real‑world insights into the classroom.
Command of the subject and use of effective teaching/learning methods.
Facilitate clear formulation of learning objectives/outcomes through thorough course planning and preparation for classroom, laboratory, and clinical sessions.
Effective course implementation using a variety of instructional methods to foster student interest.
Provide timely, constructive feedback to students.
Maintain punctuality and reliability during classes.
Revise courses as needed to increase effectiveness.
Education
Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) required.
Applicants enrolled in an MSN program will also be considered.
Completion of terminal degree deemed appropriate per programmatic needs, with a minimum of 18 semester hours in a content‑specific related field; master’s and/or doctoral degree in related field preferred.
Experience
Minimum of one (1) year experience in an area relevant to the program assignment required.
One or more years of teaching at the post‑secondary level is preferred.
License/Certifications
Where appropriate, Nebraska licensure and national certifications are required for faculty employed at Nebraska Methodist College.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
Ability to provide academic instruction, read, analyze, interpret, and grade academic assignments in a higher education environment.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Proficiency with personal computer and standard office applications.
Knowledge of various teaching methods and adult learning styles.
Skill in the effective use of resources including time, information, and available services.
Knowledge and support of the College mission statement and its values.
Physical Requirements
Light Work – Exerting up to 20 pounds of force.
Medium Work – Exerting up to 50 pounds of force (required for faculty working with students completing clinical assignments).
