Position Details
Location: Wasco State Prison (WSP), Kern County, CA
Type: Full‑time (12‑month term, may be extended to 24 months or become permanent)
Salary: $9,159 – $9,903, based on experience and qualifications
Effective start date: July 1 2025
Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and evaluate therapeutic recreation programs for inmates.
Instruct and motivate patients in individual and group recreation therapy sessions.
Monitor and document treatment progress; share assessment data with other health‑care providers.
Incorporate therapeutic recreational activities into comprehensive treatment plans.
Maintain order and supervise patient conduct to ensure safety of persons and property.
Minimum Qualifications
Graduated from a college program in recreation or recreation therapy with supervised field‑work experience.
Evidence of completion of required field work (for senior students, proof of graduation or equivalent).
