USPI North Houston Endoscopy & Surgery is seeking a motivated
Charge Nurse
to join our team. We have 4 OR rooms and 2 treatment rooms. We perform outpatient surgical procedures in Colorectal, GI, Pain Management. Position requires weekdays only -- no holidays, weekends, or call. Some early mornings and later evenings may be required; schedule subject to change based on surgical schedule and flow of the day.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a full‑time Charge Nurse (RN) to lead and support our perioperative nursing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced nurse who thrives in a leadership role within a collaborative, fast‑paced surgical setting and is passionate about delivering exceptional patient care. The Charge Nurse will oversee daily clinical operations, coordinate patient flow, and provide direct nursing care as needed.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, supervise, and support nursing staff in PreOp, OR, and PACU areas to ensure safe and efficient patient care.
Oversee daily clinical operations, including staffing, patient assignments, and workflow coordination.
Provide safe, compassionate nursing care in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Perform patient assessments, administer medications, and monitor vital signs as required.
Collaborate with physicians, anesthesia providers, and surgical staff to ensure coordinated, high‑quality care.
Educate patients and families on surgical procedures, anesthesia, and post‑operative care.
Support and monitor compliance with quality assurance, infection control, and patient safety initiatives.
Serve as a clinical resource and mentor to nursing staff.

Required Skills
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Current RN license in the state of Texas (required)
BLS and ACLS certifications (required or willingness to obtain upon hire)
1–3 years of clinical nursing experience preferred, ideally in Pre‑Op, PACU, or ambulatory surgery
Experience in GI/endoscopy procedures is a plus
Demonstrated ability to provide compassionate care in a high‑acuity outpatient setting
Proven track record of working collaboratively with surgical and anesthesia teams
Strong leadership and team management abilities.
Excellent critical thinking and decision‑making skills.
Effective communication and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and adapt in a fast‑paced environment.
Proficiency in perioperative nursing care, including assessment, IV therapy, and post‑anesthesia monitoring.
