Position Summary The Medical Assistant (MA) is a vital member of the Integra Vascular care team, supporting the clinical and operational success of our vascular programs. This individual serves as a key liaison between patients, providers, and facility staffensuring efficient communication, high-quality patient care, and adherence to compliance standards. The role involves both administrative and hands-on clinical responsibilities, providing support in our surgical centers, outpatient settings, and partner facilities.
Key Responsibilities Clinical Support
Perform patient triage, obtain vital signs, and prepare patients for vascular procedures and consultations.
Assist physicians and nurse practitioners during procedures such as vein treatments, ablations, and diagnostic evaluations.
Prepare and maintain sterile fields, surgical instruments, and procedural supplies.
Ensure accurate documentation of all patient encounters, clinical findings, and procedural notes within the EMR system.
Provide pre- and post-procedural instructions to patients and caregivers, ensuring understanding of treatment plans and follow-up expectations.
Support the safe transfer, positioning, and monitoring of patients before, during, and after procedures.
Operational & Administrative Support
Schedule and confirm patient appointments, coordinating across facilities and provider calendars.
Manage daily patient flow to maintain efficiency and minimize wait times.
Track and update care plans, referrals, and procedure outcomes for continuity of care.
Monitor and maintain clinical inventory, including restocking medical supplies and ensuring proper equipment functionality.
Assist with obtaining and uploading lab work, imaging reports, and diagnostic studies into EMR and PACS systems.
Communicate professionally with long-term care facilities, partner offices, and internal departments to ensure timely coordination of care.
Compliance & Quality
Adhere strictly to HIPAA, OSHA, and Integra Vascular's internal compliance policies and safety protocols.
Participate in quality assurance activities, reporting variances or potential risks to management.
Maintain up-to-date certifications and engage in ongoing clinical training and education.
Demonstrate commitment to patient safety, confidentiality, and a professional work environment at all times.
Additional Responsibilities
Support other clinical staff and providers as needed during high-volume days or special procedural schedules.
Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and process improvement initiatives.
Travel to various Integra Vascular facilities and partner sites as required.
Required Qualifications Active Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) credential.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record.
Minimum 2 years of medical assistant experience, preferably in vascular, interventional radiology, or outpatient surgical settings.
Strong organizational, multitasking, and time-management abilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with patients and colleagues.
Proficiency with EMR systems; experience with PACS and medical imaging systems preferred.
Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred but not required.
Must not be listed on the OIG Exclusion List.
